Event overview
The 2026 CFB Esquimalt - Navy Run 5K/10K is planned for 20 June 2026 at the Naden Athletic Centre, 88 Frewer Street, Victoria, BC, Canada. It is the 20th annual edition of this event.
The Navy Run is described as an inclusive, family-friendly community event. It is open to everyone, whether or not they are part of the Department of National Defence (DND) community.
Participants can join in person in Esquimalt or take part virtually from another location. The organizers plan both an in-person event and a virtual race, and online registration is scheduled to close on 14 June 2026.
Distances and format
The event offers:
- 10K run (in person and virtual)
- 5K run (in person and virtual)
- Kids’ event / Kids Fun Run
The Kids Fun Run is free, and there is an option to purchase a kids’ event T-shirt separately for both in-person and virtual participants. Adult registration includes a fitted event T-shirt, allocated from a stock of 510 shirts on a first-come basis.
Entry options and notes
Entry fees vary by participant category, including:
- Active and retired military members and dependants
- DND/NPF civilians and dependants (including Coast Guard, RCMP, MFRC)
- General public
- Virtual 5K and 10K options for all participants
All payments are in Canadian dollars, with GST and an online processing fee applied. Registrations can be transferred between in-person and virtual subevents until 3 June 2026, with a processing fee and any price difference.
