Cereal City Triathlon and Duathlon
The Cereal City Triathlon and Duathlon takes place at Willard Beach on Goguac Lake in the City of Battle Creek. The event offers a sprint triathlon, a super sprint triathlon for ages 9 to 18, and a duathlon. Each event may be completed solo or as a relay team of two or three people. A separate Cereal City KIDS Triathlon is offered for ages 4 to 13; that untimed event has two distances based on ability, allows swim aids and training wheels, and provides scholarships for participants.
The swim start is in the water on the western sea wall of Willard Beach and follows a clockwise triangular course with turn buoys to the right. The swim finishes on the beach and continues to the transition area.
The bike course uses city and county roads, traveling from Willard Beach onto Capital Avenue and local streets with a turnaround on Renton Road. Roads remain open to traffic; volunteers and officers will direct traffic and athletes are expected to ride to the far right when not passing.
The run course follows city streets and a walking trail through Riverside Park with a designated turnaround and a water station. The event uses electronic timing chips worn on the ankle, and helmets meeting current safety standards must be buckled while on the bike course and in transition.

- Duathlon: Run about 3K, Bike 20K, Run 5K.
