Cereal City Triathlon & Duathlon
The Cereal City Triathlon & Duathlon takes place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Willard Beach Park in Battle Creek, Michigan. The event features sprint triathlon and sprint duathlon formats, relay team options, a dedicated Super Sprint for youth, and virtual race options.
Distances offered:
- Sprint triathlon: 500 m swim, 12.4 miles (20K) bike, 3.1 miles (5K) run
- Duathlon: 2 mile run, 20K bike, 5K run
- Super Sprint: 400 m swim, 10K bike, 3K run
Relays are available in both two person and three person formats; each team member may register and pay individually. The swim for the main triathlon starts from the westernmost sea wall of Willard Beach on Goguac Lake, follows buoys kept to the swimmers right, and finishes on the beach with a run up to the transition area. The bike course leaves the park onto George B Place and Capital Avenue then follows Minges Road, South Minges Road, and Watkins Road to a turnaround on Renton Road; the event will use bike lanes and road shoulders without requesting full road closures. The run route goes from Willard Beach Park along Capital Avenue and Golden Avenue to the Riverside Park trail loop with a water station and backtracks to the finish.
Packet pick up and transition setup occur on race morning at the Willard Beach Pavilion. Each registration includes a race shirt, finisher medal, and a post race meal from a food truck. Awards are mailed to participants and a portion of proceeds will fund registration scholarships for the Cereal City Kids Triathlon and the Cereal City Youth Triathlon Club.
