Event overview
The Cereal City Triathlon & Duathlon takes place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Willard Beach Park in Battle Creek, Michigan. The event offers in-person and virtual options, plus 2- and 3-person relays with per-person pricing. Each registration includes a t-shirt, finisher's medal, and a post-race meal. Awards will be mailed to participants; there is no awards ceremony.
Distances and formats
- Triathlon: Swim 500 m, Bike 12.4 miles (20K), Run 3.1 miles (5K).
- Duathlon: Run 2 miles, Bike 20K, Run 5K.
- Super Sprint: Swim 400 m, Bike 10K, Run 3K.
The Super Sprint is open to ages 10 to 18.
Course and logistics
The swim start is in the water at the western sea wall of Willard Beach on Goguac Lake; swimmers will turn buoys to their right and finish on the beach. The bike course uses local streets (including Capital Ave, West Minges Road, South Minges Road, Watkins Road) with a turnaround on Renton Road; organizers will not request full road closures and will use bike lanes and shoulders where available. The 5K run follows George B Place, Capital Ave, Golden Ave (G Dr N) and the Riverside Park trail with a designated turnaround and a water station. Duathlon and Super Sprint routes follow similar local roads and trails. Packet pick-up and transition area set-up occur on race morning at Willard Beach Pavilion.
