Sherman Lake YMCA Turkey Trot
The Sherman Lake YMCA Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running event held at Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center in Augusta, Michigan. The course follows camp trails and paved roads and leads to a finish where participants receive a piece of pumpkin pie. The event is untimed.
Two distance options are offered:
- 2-mile Sweet Potato Shuffle
- 4-mile Turkey Trot
Registration information is public: a standard registration fee is $25 and registration covers either course distance. Families of three or more receive a $5 discount per participant when they register together. Children age five and under may enter free. Registration opens August 1, 2026 and closes November 26, 2026.
Participants are encouraged to wear themed or festive clothing to display Thanksgiving or Turkey Trot spirit. The event takes place at Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center, 6225 North 39th Street, Augusta, MI 49012. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
