Chiltern Wonderland 50

The Chiltern Wonderland 50 is a single-loop, 50 mile (about 81 km) race on a route through the Chiltern Hills. The course has approximately 5600 ft (1700 m) of climb and descent and uses about 80% trail and 20% road. The race starts and finishes at Goring Village Hall, Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG8 9AG. The route passes through riverside and Chiltern Way sections and visits named checkpoints and villages, including high points such as Christmas Common (about 800 ft). Race format and services

The event is held under a UK Athletics permit. The on-course cut-off is 13 hours. There are five staffed aid stations offering a range of food and drink with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options (examples listed include gels, electrolyte drink, water, soft drinks, fruit, sandwiches, snacks). Full medical cover is provided with a finish-line first aid team and at least one roving medical team on course. The course is fully marked; no navigation is required.

Entries open 11 October 2025 and close 31 August 2026. Minimum age is 20. Entry fees are £115 (UKA discounted) or £117 for unattached runners. Entrants must meet a qualification standard of a marathon distance completed within that race’s cut-off since 1 January 2021, or provide plans to qualify. All finishers receive a medal; prizes are awarded for top places and veteran categories. No pacers or crews are permitted. Finish-line bags are allowed; other drop bags are not. Mandatory kit is required and includes items such as a charged mobile phone, 1 L water capacity, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle, primary and backup lights, long-sleeve emergency layer and a cup; a one-hour penalty may be applied for missing items.
