Centurion Chiltern Wonderland 50
The Chiltern Wonderland 50 is a single 50 mile loop through the Chiltern Hills, starting and finishing in the riverside village of Goring-on-Thames. The route covers about 81 km with roughly 5600 ft of climb and descent, and follows sections of the Thames Path, the Chiltern Way and the Ridgeway, passing villages, deer parkland and the highest point on course at Christmas Common.
The course is fully marked and supported. There are five well stocked aid stations offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options plus drinks and sports nutrition. A dedicated medical team will provide on course and finish line support. There is a 13 hour overall cut off and additional checkpoint cut offs on route.
The event is held under a UK Athletics permit and limits starters to 250. Terrain is mainly trail with some road sections, and trail shoes are advised. Mandatory kit is enforced with pre race and possible in race checks; missing items incur a one hour time penalty. Pacers and crews are not permitted. Finishers receive a medal and prizes are awarded to first, second and third placed men and women and to veteran age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
