Event overview

The Chiltern Wonderland 50 is a 50 mi (about 81 km) single-loop ultramarathon in the Chiltern Hills on 19 September 2026. The route starts and finishes at Goring Village Hall, Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG8 9AG. The course has approximately 5600 ft (1700 m) of ascent and descent, and is marked throughout with Centurion ribbons and arrows so no navigation is required. Terrain is listed as about 80% trail and 20% road.

Logistics and race details

Runners must meet a qualification standard: completion of at least a marathon within the event cutoff time between 1 January 2021 and the race date; unqualified entrants may be contacted to verify plans. The event enforces a 13 hour overall time limit, with additional cutoffs at aid stations. There are five staffed aid stations offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options and a range of sports nutrition and snacks. Medical support includes a static finish team and roving medics on course. Pacers and crew are not permitted. Finishers receive a finisher medal; prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female and to vet categories MV40, MV50, MV60, MV70, FV40, FV50, FV60 and FV70.
