Autumn 100
The Autumn 100 is a continuous trail race that covers a total distance of 100 miles. The event is staged in the twinned villages of Goring and Streatley in Oxfordshire. The course is designed in the shape of a cross, consisting of four distinct out and back spurs, each measuring 25 miles. This layout utilizes sections of both the Ridgeway and the Thames Path National Trails.
Participants navigate four specific legs starting and returning to the central hub in Goring:
- Leg 1: An out and back section on the Thames Path to Little Wittenham.
- Leg 2: A section along the Ridgeway out to Swyncombe Farm.
- Leg 3: A western route on the Ridgeway toward Chain Hill.
- Leg 4: A final stretch on the Thames Path toward Reading.
The environment features a mix of flat and fast sections, particularly during dry weather conditions. Runners must be prepared for the typical British autumn climate, which may include low temperatures, wind, rain, and approximately 13 hours of darkness. The trail is marked with course markings and existing National Trail waymarkers.
Support for participants includes 16 stocked aid stations and full medical coverage throughout the duration of the event. The race is held under a UK Athletics Permit through the Trail Running Association. The minimum age for entry is 20 years old. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
