Event Overview
The Autumn 100 is a 100-mile continuous trail race. It takes place in the villages of Goring & Streatley on the River Thames. The event is scheduled for 17 October 2026.
Course Details
The course is shaped like a cross and consists of four separate 25-mile out-and-back spurs. It uses sections of the Thames Path and Ridgeway National Trails. The spurs are run in this order:
- Spur 1: Thames Path from Streatley to Little Wittenham and back.
- Spur 2: Ridgeway from Streatley to Swyncombe Farm and back.
- Spur 3: Ridgeway from Streatley to Chain Hill and back.
- Spur 4: Thames Path from Streatley to Reading and back.
The terrain is approximately 20% road and 80% trail. The total elevation gain is about 5000 feet (1500 meters). During dry conditions, the route can be flat and fast, but runners may face wet, windy, or cold autumn weather and up to 13 hours of darkness.
Race Information
The start and finish location is Goring Village Hall in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. The race has a 28-hour time limit, with additional cut-offs at aid stations. There is a qualification standard: entrants must have completed a 50-mile race within 15 hours between 1 January 2021 and race day. Entry opens on 8 November 2025. The entry fee is £220 for UKA-affiliated runners (£222 for unaffiliated).
Support and Logistics
The event features 16 fully stocked aid stations with food, drinks, and hot beverages at some locations. There is full medical support. The course is marked with Centurion ribbons and arrows in addition to National Trail markers. Drop bags (under 30 litres) can be accessed at Goring at miles 25, 50, 75, and 100. Pacers are permitted only from mile 75 (Leg Four). Crews are not permitted due to site constraints.
Awards and Equipment
All finishers receive a Centurion 100-mile finisher's belt buckle. Those finishing under 24 hours receive a special '100 miles - One Day' buckle. Prizes are awarded for top finishers and age categories. Runners must carry mandatory gear, including a waterproof jacket, headtorch, backup light, survival blanket, warm hat, gloves, and a long-sleeved base layer. Random kit checks are conducted.
