Event Overview

This event, part of the 10th Celtic Calling Gathering, features a 5K Kilt Run and a 2K Kilt Walk. It takes place at the historic Spring Hill Cemetery Park and Arboretum in Charleston, West Virginia.

Courses

Both the 5K run and the 2K walk start and finish at the Administration Building.

  • The 5K course is described as an undulating figure of eight with over 300 feet of elevation gain. It takes participants through the 180-acre cemetery, passing monuments to historic city founders and offering views over the Kanawha Valley.
  • The 2K walk follows a non-timed course on the same grounds.

Event Details

Bagpipe music is featured as part of the event atmosphere. Wearing kilts or Celtic attire is optional. All participants receive a commemorative medal for the 10th gathering and are entered into a raffle for donated prizes. Awards are given for overall winners, numerous age group categories, best-dressed participants (and their dogs), and the largest registered group.
