UC Marathon, University of Charleston
The UC Marathon takes place in Charleston, West Virginia, as a weekend of races on April 10–11, 2027. The event program includes a 5K on Saturday and both the marathon and half marathon on Sunday. Registration is offered in tiered periods with fees that increase as race weekend approaches.
The marathon course is USATF certified and is described as fast and flat. The full route covers 26.2 miles through Downtown Charleston and passes notable areas such as the historic Elk City district, the West Virginia State Capitol, Kanawha City, and the University of Charleston’s riverfront campus. Certification allows finish times to be used for Boston Marathon qualifying and qualification for other major races.

Race weekend includes pre-race and post-race activities in Downtown Charleston, including the Spilman Thomas & Battle Spaghetti Dinner and family-friendly events. Packet pickup is scheduled on campus Friday evening and Saturday daytime before the races. Free downtown parking will be available within walking distance of start and finish areas. The preferred hotel is Four Points by Sheraton Charleston. The nearest airport is Yeager Airport, about ten minutes from downtown, offering direct flights to several major cities.
