Caveman Triathlon - Flower Mound, TX
The Caveman Triathlon takes place in Flower Mound on April 12, 2026. The event includes a triathlon with age group divisions plus Athena (female 165 lbs and over) and Clydesdale (male 220 lbs and over) categories, and a separate CaveMan 5K Run/Walk that uses the same 5K course as the triathlon.
The triathlon swim is conducted as a time trial in the Flower Mound CAC natatorium. The bike course is a relatively flat three loop route. The run course is 3.1 miles and is considered flat.
- Swim: 275 yards time-trial start in the Flower Mound CAC natatorium.
- Bike: 11.5 miles, relatively flat three loop route.
- Run: 3.1 miles, flat 5K course.
All participants receive a short sleeve custom tech shirt, a pair of DAR socks, and a finisher's medal. The event is USAT sanctioned and follows USA Triathlon rules; competitors must be current USAT members or purchase a one day USAT permit. Body marking is performed by volunteers before entering transition; athletes may also mark themselves. Race numbers should be written on the left upper arm and left calf, with age optional on the right calf.
Packet pickup is held at local running and bike stores in the days before the event. The organizer maintains a no refund and no transfer policy. In inclement weather the start may be delayed by up to one hour, the course may be shortened or altered, or the event may be canceled at the race director's discretion.
