Keswick AC Causey Pike Fell Race
The event is an AS category fell race held in the Lake District on 14 March 2026. The course is 7.2 km long with 543 m of ascent and uses the traditional route to the summit of Causey Pike. Race headquarters are located in the Uzzicar parking field, grid reference NY 217234.
The route leaves Stair, follows the Newlands Valley road, climbs to Rowling End, passes Sleet Hause and reaches the summit of Causey Pike. The return descends off Causey, follows the miners path beside Stoneycroft Gill and finishes back at Stair. The summit section is partly marked and the course has three marshal points.
The race is run under FRA rules. Full FRA kit plus a mandatory base layer are required for all runners. Minimum age is 16; under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult who remains at race headquarters for the duration of the event. Entry is by pre entry only with different fees for members and non members. Parking is available in the field at a charge of £5 per car, with the parking area a short walk from race headquarters.
