Keswick AC Causey Pike Fell Race
Keswick Athletic Club stages an AS-category fell race at Uzzicar Farm Field in the Lake District on 14 March 2026. The race headquarters is based at the Uzzicar parking field, grid reference NY 217234.
The course is 7.2 km with 543 m of ascent. The route runs from Stair to the Newlands Valley road, then up to Rowling End, past Sleet Hause to the summit of Causey Pike. The return descends off Causey, follows the miners path alongside Stoneycroft Gill and finishes back at Stair. The route is partly marked at the summit and has three marshal points.
The event is held under FRA rules. Full FRA kit plus a mandatory base layer is required for all runners. The minimum age is 16; under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult who remains at race headquarters for the duration of the race. The race holds a Permit with associated UK Athletics insurance.
Parking is signposted, is most easily approached from Braithwaite and uses a local field about a five minute walk to the start; a parking fee of £5 per car is payable in cash. Maps will be available at race HQ on the day for a small charge. Refreshments at the finish are provided by Nav4 and include tea, coffee, juice and soup; participants are asked to bring their own cup. Prizes are awarded across age categories including under 23, senior, and veteran classes.
