Cat's Tail Trail Marathon : September 26, 2026
The Cat's Tail Trail Marathon is the twelfth edition of a point to point trail marathon in the Slide Mountain Wilderness Area of the Catskill Mountains, held near Shandaken, NY. The course covers a marathon distance of 26 miles with almost 7,000 feet of elevation gain and includes rocky, technical climbs and descents as well as views of rolling hills and mountains.
The event features multiple aid stations along the route. At the finish there are food and refreshments, plus event swag and prizes. Proceeds from the race support Run Wild, Inc., a nonprofit that provides funding for land conservation.
Registration opens May 1, 2026. The published refund policy states the last day for a full refund minus the registration platform fee is August 1, 2026, and full refunds are available at any time for pregnancy or postpartum needs. Military veterans and first responders are eligible for a 25% registration discount. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
