Cat's Tail Marathon
The Cat's Tail Marathon on September 26, 2026 in Shandaken, New York is the twelfth edition of a point to point trail marathon in the Slide Mountain Wilderness Area of the Catskill Mountains. The course records almost 7000 feet of elevation gain and crosses rolling hills and mountain terrain.
The route includes rocky, technical climbs and descents that require steady footing. Multiple aid stations are available along the course. The finish area provides food and refreshments. The event offers participant items and prizes.
Proceeds support Run Wild, Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports land conservation. Military veterans and first responders are eligible for a 25 percent discount. The last day for a full refund minus the Ultrasignup fee is 8/1/26, or refunds are available at any time for pregnancy or post partum needs.
