Event Overview
The Catch the Leprechaun 5K is a running and walking event held in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The race follows a 5K (3.1 mile) distance on a USATF Certified course. The route is characterized as flat and fast, consisting entirely of pavement. Participants start and finish at Blue Sky Endurance at Carolina Park, traveling along Park Avenue Boulevard to the Darrel Creek Trail and back.

Course and Participation Details
The course includes a water station located at the intersection of Darrell Creek Trail and Faulkner Drive. Before the race begins, a pre-race yoga session is held on the grass at Park Bend. The event is open to a variety of participants, including walkers, joggers, and those pushing strollers. For safety reasons, bicycles and dogs are not permitted on the course.
Registered participants receive a commemorative finishers medal and a race t-shirt, though shirt availability is only guaranteed for those who register by early March. Post-race activities include live music, food, and beverages.
Awards and Recognition
The event features a "Leprechaun" on the course; runners who finish ahead of this character receive a prize. Formal awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as winners in Masters and Grandmasters categories. Age group awards are provided for participants ranging from 14 and under to 90 and over. Additionally, prizes are given for various costume categories, such as Best Dressed Duo, Best Matching Group, and Most Festive St. Paddy's Day Outfit.
