Catch the Leprechaun 5K - Mount Pleasant
The Catch the Leprechaun 5K is a USATF certified, flat 3.1 mile course on pavement that begins and ends at Blue Sky Endurance at Carolina Park in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The route follows Park Avenue Boulevard onto Darrell Creek Trail and returns to the start.
Event features include a commemorative finisher medal, a race t-shirt, and free post race food and beverages. A water station is located at the intersection of Darrell Creek Trail and Faulkner Drive. Strollers and baby joggers are allowed; dogs and bicycles are not permitted on the course. The event discourages the use of headphones and asks runners to keep one ear free if they choose to wear them.
Awards are given to top overall finishers, top Masters and Grandmasters, and top competitors in multiple age groups. Additional prizes recognize costume and group categories such as Best Dressed Duo, Best Matching Group, Most Festive St. Paddy's Day Outfit, and Tiny but Mighty - Littlest Leprechaun. A local leprechaun character will appear on course and runners who beat that character to the finish are eligible for a prize.
Minimum age for the 5K is 6 years with a consenting parent or guardian signature; runners under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Children 10 and under may register free but will not be timed or receive race swag unless registered as paid participants.
