Catch Me If You Can 2 Mile Hero vs. Villain Chase
This event is a team-based chase on a 2-mile course in Benton City, WA. Participants choose a side when they register: Hero or Villain. Villains start with a two-minute advantage and Heroes begin after that gap; there is no physical tagging. Heroes attempt to safely pass as many Villains as possible before the finish line, and every participant completes the full course whether they are passed or remain ahead.
Team scoring uses an official chase clock that begins when the Villains start. After everyone finishes, the average chase-clock time for Team Hero and Team Villain is compared; the team with the lower average chase time is declared the winner. Individual results reflect each participant’s actual running time.
Runners and walkers of different ages and abilities are welcome. Costumes are encouraged but not required. Finishers receive side-specific stickers: Team Villain finishers receive an “I ESCAPED!” sticker, and Team Hero finishers receive an “I CAUGHT ’EM!” sticker.
Event location: 807 9th St., Benton City, WA 99320. Official race shirts are available for purchase, black T-shirts featuring the 2026 design priced at $15 each; pre-order by Tuesday, October 20 to guarantee shirt and size. Packet pickup is scheduled on race morning and participants are asked to collect packets before the chase begins so starting groups can be organized.
