Running Scared 5K/13K - Richland
This Halloween-themed event takes place on 10/11/2026 at Leslie Groves Park in Richland, WA (40 Park St). It offers in-person and virtual race options and encourages costumes.
Distances include:
- 5K
- 13K
- 18K Deadly Double (5K plus 13K, 18K total)
All in-person participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Virtual entrants can run where and when they choose, submit their time, and receive race swag by mail; shipping is limited to the Continental US.
The Deadly Double requires completing the 5K and then returning within 30 minutes to run the 13K, and finishers of the double earn a separate Deadly Double finisher medal in addition to the race shirt.
Awards are given for the Top Three Male and Female Overall finishers in both the 5K and 13K. Additional awards are presented to the Top Three in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters Overall categories. The top three athletes in each traditional five-year age group receive awards in both race distances. Special recognition is given to the Top Three Male and Female finishers who complete the Deadly Double. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
