Catamount Weekly Trail Running Race
This weekly trail running event takes place at Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston, Vermont, at 592 Governor Chittenden Road. The program offers short trail distances in adult and youth categories and operates as a recurring series during the season.
Distances and categories include:
- 5 km (Adult and Youth)
- 2.5 km Half Lap (Adult and Youth)
Entry fees listed for the event include a $20 fee for adult categories and a $15 fee for youth categories. Youth entries require the participant to be under 18 years old or to present a valid student ID.
Races are held rain or shine. If delays or cancellations are necessary for weather, updates are posted by 4:00 pm on the organizer’s Facebook page. A thunder policy specifies a 30-minute delay for thunder between 5:30 and 5:45 pm and cancellation if thunder occurs after 5:45 pm or during the race. If a race is canceled for weather, single night entries may be transferred to another week by emailing the organizer.
Race night procedures note that bib pickup occurs before racing and that bibs must be visible. Single night entry bibs are assigned weekly and should not be reused; new bib numbers are distributed at check-in. Participants who start but do not finish are asked to check in at the tent so staff can confirm safety. A refill station is available near the bike wash.
