Event Overview

The Catamount Ultra is a trail race with distances of 25k and 50k. The event starts and finishes at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. The course uses the lodge's trail system at the foot of Mount Mansfield.

Course Details

The 25k course is primarily on wide, hard-packed dirt trails. It goes through highland pastures and hardwood forest. The course contains approximately 2500 feet of elevation gain and loss. The 50k distance consists of running the 25k loop twice, for a total of about 5000 feet of elevation gain and loss. There is a 9-hour overall time limit for the 50k race.

Aid & Logistics

The course has three aid stations. The race is cup-free, so participants must carry their own hydration vessel. A designated area at the start/finish is available for 50k runner drop bags. Basic first aid supplies are available at the start/finish. Spectators are welcome on the course, but driving access is only available at the start/finish area.

Registration & Awards

The participant capacity for the event is 600. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female winners for both race distances. All racers receive a race packet, event t-shirt, and post-race recovery snacks. A 20% discount is offered for registration to another race.
