Event overview
The Catamount Ultra takes place on June 20, 2026, in Stowe, Vermont, with start and finish at the Trapp Family Lodge Outdoor Center. The event has a participant capacity of 600. Distances offered:

- 50K
The 50K consists of two laps of the 25K course. Entry fees begin at $115 for the 25K and $135 for the 50K, with higher rates after April 30 and on race day. Refunds are available, minus a $25 service fee, only if requested by May 15; after that date no refunds are offered. Online registration closes June 18.
Course and race details
The course is primarily wide, hard-packed dirt trail that loops around the Trapp Family Lodge trail system at the foot of Mount Mansfield. It passes highland pastures and hardwood forest and crosses areas with maple sugar tap lines. Each 25K loop contains about 2,500 ft of ascent and 2,500 ft of descent, for roughly 5,000 ft total gain and loss on the 50K.
There are three aid stations located at miles 4.6, 9.4, and the start/finish area; 25K runners will access two while on course. The race is cup-free. A designated area at the start/finish will hold 50K drop bags. Cattle may occupy fenced sections of the property at times; those areas should not be entered. Prize awards are planned for 1st to 3rd overall male and female finishers; no cash prizes will be awarded. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
