Event Overview
The Catalina Island running event provides multiple course options on the island of Catalina, California. The races feature a variety of distances and terrains, ranging from town streets to rugged interior trails.
Available distances include:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 6.2 Miles (10K)
- 1K (Kids Fun Run)
The 13.1 Mile course begins in the center of Avalon. Participants run past the historic Wrigley Mansion before entering the island's Interior. This route includes uphill sections leading to the summit of the trail, which offers views of the Pacific Ocean and nearby Channel Islands. The path continues with a descent through the Wrigley Memorial before returning to the town center.
The 6.2 Mile race takes place on the streets of Avalon and the Hour Trail. This hillside trail overlooks Avalon Bay and circles back through the town. For younger participants, there is a 1K Kids Fun Run located downtown. Parents are permitted to escort their children during this event.
The event also includes the Triple Crown Challenge. This category is for participants who complete three specific Run Catalina events: the Half Marathon, the 50K or 50 Mile, and the Marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
