Avalon Benefit 50 Mile/50K Run
The Avalon Benefit 50 Mile/50K Run is a trail running event held on Catalina Island with routes that start and finish in Avalon. The 50 Mile run is entering its 44th year and the 50K was added seven years later. The event is managed by the Avalon Lions Club to generate funds in support of island charities and Avalon schools.
The 50 Mile course traverses the length of the island from Avalon to Two Harbors, then returns to Avalon along the same roads and trails. The 50K follows the same general network of roads and trails but turns at Little Harbor Overlook and returns to town through Middle Ranch. The course passes multiple ocean vistas and viewpoints; bison sightings have been reported along the route. Aid stations and volunteers are provided along the courses.

- 50 Mile run, Avalon to Two Harbors and back
- 50K run, turn at Little Harbor Overlook and return through Middle Ranch
