Castle C'Alf fell race

Castle C'Alf is a Yorkshire fell race held on Sunday 4 October 2026, based at Wadsworth Community Centre, Old Town near Hebden Bridge (HX7 8RY). The event uses the final half of the Full Castle Carr race route and runs through the Castle Carr private estate, Midgley Moor and Warley Moor.

The race distance is 12 km (7 miles) with approximately 490 m of ascent and descent and is categorised as BM. The event is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules and is run as a non-GPS race.

Entrants must be 18 or older. Entry fees are listed as £7.00 for FRA members and £9.00 for non-members. Entries open 2 September 2026 and close 3 October 2026.

Runners must carry waterproof trousers with taped seams, a waterproof jacket with taped seams and an integrated hood, a hat (a buff is acceptable), gloves, a map suitable for navigating the route, a proper compass, a whistle and emergency food. Kit will be checked at registration.
