Caspian 5 and 10 Miler
The event takes place at Shelby Farms Park on the Tour de Wolf trails in Cordova, TN. It offers the following distances:
- 5 mile
- 10 mile (two loops of the 5 mile course)
The Tour de Wolf is a mostly singletrack trail that passes through oak-hickory forest, meadows, ponds, and creeks. The surface is primarily dirt with some rooty and muddy sections possible after wet weather. Terrain is mostly flat with a few gentle hills. Road shoes are acceptable on dry trails; trail shoes are also appropriate.
Packet pickup is the day before the race at the Tour de Wolf Pavilion. Both the start and finish are located at the pavilion, where runners may leave a bag with their own drinks and food. This is a cupless race; runners must carry their own cup, flask, handheld bottle, or hydration vest.
Water stations are located at miles 1.5 and 3.5 on the 5 mile course. The 10 mile course has stations at miles 1.5, 3.5, 5, 6.5, and 8.5. Water stations do not provide food; food is available at the finish line. Portable toilets are provided at the start/finish and a nearby bathroom with running water is accessible. The race is chip timed and bibs should be worn on the front.
After the race organizers recognize the top three male and female finishers and age group award winners for both distances, and provide snacks, drinks, cooling towels, and music. There are no refunds or roll-over credits. Summer heat, humidity, and storms are common in the area; the Race Director may delay or cancel the event for safety.
Local amenities include several hotels in Germantown, nearby grocery stores, and a local running store on Germantown Parkway. Shelby Farms Park covers roughly 4,500 acres with many trails and lakes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
