About the race
The 58th annual Carson Park 5 & 10 takes place on October 31, 2026 at the Wisconsin Logging Museum (Paul Bunyan Logging Camp), 1110 Carson Park Drive, Eau Claire, WI 54702. The event offers multiple distance options and is staged in and around Carson Park.
Distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10 Miles
- Kid's 1/4 mile or 1-mile BOO-gie Run
The course runs through Carson Park and nearby trails. The 10-mile route incorporates a new stretch of trail between Rod and Gun Park and Carson Park. Post-race activities for participants include a Halloween costume contest with Scheels and Festival Foods gift card prizes and free tours of the Chippewa Valley Museum. All finishers receive a free ice-cream cone from the Museum's vintage ice-cream parlor.
Awards and special recognitions include medals for all kid’s run finishers, medals for the top three age-group finishers in the 5K and 10-mile, gift card prizes for top overall finishers, and gift cards for best kids and adult costumes. The Carson Challenge awards a Carson ball cap to participants who run their first or fastest 5K or who finish within two minutes of a predicted 10-mile time.
Registration details: adult events open May 18, 2026 and close September 8, 2026 with a $30 fee for the 5K and 10-mile; the kid's run registration closes October 19, 2026 with a $15 fee. Race shirt and bib pickup are available Friday and Saturday at the Wisconsin Logging Museum on October 30 and October 31.
