About the race
The Carson Park 5 and 10 / Logging Miles event is scheduled for October 31, 2026 at the Wisconsin Logging Museum (Paul Bunyan Logging Camp), 1110 Carson Park Drive, Eau Claire, WI. This is the 58th annual running of the event and it uses a scenic course in and around Carson Park, including a new stretch of trail between Rod and Gun Park and Carson Park.
The event program includes these distances:
- 5K run/walk
- 10-mile run
- Kid's BOO-gie runs: 1/4 mile or 1 mile
Registration details vary by race. Registration for the 5K and 10-mile opens May 18, 2026 and closes September 8, 2026; the registration fee for these races is $30.00. Kid's race registration opens May 18, 2026 and closes October 19, 2026; the registration fee is $15.00. Race shirts and race-number pickup are available Friday and Saturday at the Wisconsin Logging Museum (Paul Bunyan Logging Camp).
Post-race activities and awards include free Chippewa Valley Museum tours for event participants, train rides with one free ride for kids in costume and a $3 fare for other riders, and a Halloween costume contest with Scheels and Festival Foods gift card prizes. Finishers receive one free beer (21 and older) or soda. Prize awards include medals for kid's run finishers, medals for top three age-group finishers in the 5K and 10-mile, and Scheels gift cards for overall top finishers.
The Carson Challenge rewards runners who run their first or fastest 5K or who finish within two minutes of their predicted 10-mile time with a choice of a Carson ball cap, neck gaitor, or a pair of ITC socks. Net proceeds benefit the Chippewa Valley Museum and the ITC Running and Walking Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
