Event details
The Carrum Coast Guard Around the River Fun Run is the tenth annual run in Carrum, Victoria. The event features timed running and walking options and a short novelty race for children under seven. Distances offered are:
- 6 km Run/Walk
- 12 km Run only
Electronic timing bibs will be used and results will be available online with printed result sheets on the day. Water stations will be provided along the course. Medals are awarded to all participants. Family entertainment and kids activities are listed as part of the event, and a post-race barbecue will be available with food and drinks for purchase, including bacon and egg rolls and sausages in bread.
Entry, logistics and fundraising
Registration and bib collection are available on a Saturday before the event at the Carrum Coast Guard building on Launching Way and on the event day near the river. Parking is available in and around Launching Way but not at the boat ramps. Team entries are available; emergency service teams require a minimum of three entrants. Entry fees vary by age category and timing of registration; there are early bird and regular rates, and children six and under may enter free. All proceeds from the event support the Carrum Flotilla of the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
