Carolina Thread 8/4Hr
The Carolina Thread 8/4 hour event is scheduled for May 8, 2027 at Westminster Park in Rock Hill, SC. The race is organized by BALS Racing.
- 8 hour race on repeated 1.75 mile loop
- 4 hour race on repeated 1.75 mile loop
The course uses a 1.75 mile loop with approximately 155 ft of elevation gain and loss per loop. The race will traverse the loop in the clockwise direction in 2027. The loop follows part of the Westminster Park trail system.
The start/finish area includes a large open field for crew areas and a single aid station at the start/finish. The aid station will offer organic food, water, and Just Ingredients Electrolytes, and hot organic food will be cooked during the day. Venue features include a playground, open fields, an 18 hole disc golf course, restroom facilities, river fishing with a license, and a large pavilion that can shelter at least two hundred runners.
Swag bags will include BALS logo merchandise, a BALS sticker, and other items. All finishers will receive a handmade medal and a Carolina Thread sticker. The top three male and female finishers in each race will receive custom handmade awards.
Registration fees are listed between USD 87.50 and USD 110.00. Ten percent of race profits will support the BALS Foundation. A 15% military discount is available for current and veteran service members. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine; refunds are generally not issued, but transfers and a one year pregnancy deferral are available under the organizer's policies.
