Event overview

The Carolina Thread race takes place at Bailes Ridge Trail in Fort Mill, SC on May 2, 2026. This is the second annual running of the event on the Bailes Ridge Trail system. The course is a roughly 1.4 mile loop with about 95 feet of elevation gain and loss per loop. The event offers time-based race options that include an 8-hour and a 4-hour format.

Course and support

There is ample space near the start/finish for crews to set up next to vehicles. One aid station will be located at the start/finish with organic food options, water, and Tailwind. Hot organic food will be prepared on site during the day.

Logistics

Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 1, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Charlotte Running Company (Riverwalk), 652 Herrons Ferry Road Suite 101, Rock Hill, SC 29730. A lodging option is listed at a nearby TownePlace Suites by Marriott with published nightly rates of $125 for both double-queen and single-king studio rooms. Registration opens December 6, 2025 at 12:00 AM ET.

Entries, awards and policies

The swag bag includes a trucker hat, sticker, and samples. All finishers receive an etched coffee mug, a handmade medal, and a race sticker. Top three men and top three women in each time division receive custom handmade awards. Pacers are not allowed except by organizer approval.
