Event overview

The Carolina Thread 8/4 Hour is scheduled for May 2, 2026, in Fort Mill, South Carolina, at Bailes Ridge on the Carolina Thread Trail. The event is an ultrarunning-format race with two timed options: an 8-hour and a 4-hour event. Registration closes April 30, 2026. Packet pick-up is available on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Charlotte Running Company (Riverwalk) in Rock Hill and on race day at the start/finish area.

Course, support and logistics

The course is a 1.4 mile loop on the Bailes Ridge Trail system, with approximately 95 feet of elevation gain and loss per loop. The surface is described as a wide open, non-technical double track. One aid station will operate at the start/finish area offering organic food items, water, and Tailwind. Hot organic food will be prepared throughout the day, and there is space near the start/finish for crew areas with vehicle-side setup.

Swag for entrants includes a trucker hat, sticker, product sample, and other items. All finishers receive an etched coffee mug, a handmade medal, and a race sticker. Custom handmade awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each timed event. Pacers are not allowed except by organizer approval. No refunds are issued; transfers and a one-year pregnancy deferral are available under the event policies. The event uses a tiger theme for race branding.
