Carolina Thread 8/4Hr
The Carolina Thread 8/4Hr is a timed running event held at Bailes Ridge in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Participants navigate a 1.4 mile loop within the Bailes Ridge Trail system. The course consists of wide-open, non-technical double track trails, featuring approximately 95 feet of elevation gain and loss per lap.
The event offers two primary duration options:
- 8 hours
- 4 hours
The start and finish area provides space for participants to set up personal crew areas next to their vehicles. An aid station is located at this central point, offering a variety of organic food items such as fruit, chips, cookies, and cooked options including protein pancakes and grilled cheese. Hydration options include water and Tailwind.
All finishers receive an etched coffee mug, a handmade medal, and an event sticker. Top finishers in both the male and female categories for each duration receive custom awards. Registration includes a swag bag with a trucker hat and other items. Participants must register by April 1, 2026, to guarantee receipt of a handmade medal.
The event proceeds support the BALS Foundation, which focuses on providing organic food to families in need. The race takes place rain or shine, and pacers are generally not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
