About the race
The Carlisle Spring Duathlon is a sprint-distance duathlon held at Carlisle Lake District Airport in Great Britain. The event takes place in March as the spring edition and is run at the airport terminal location on Aviation Way, Carlisle CA6 4NW. The two on-airport runs are traffic free and the bike leg uses quiet country roads. Free parking is provided at the venue.
The event format is:
- 5 km run
- 19.3 km bike
- 2.5 km run
The race is chip timed and offers a bespoke finisher’s medal. Prizes are given to the first three male and female finishers and in 10-year age groups. Light refreshments are available in the airport after the event. The minimum age for the sprint distance is 15 years old on 31 December 2026. The event has a Rated Excellent designation (BTF). Non-BTF-affiliated athletes may need to purchase a BTF Race Pass. Entry fees start from £35. Registration closes on 6 March 2027.
