Carlisle Remembrance Run
The Carlisle Remembrance Run is a community remembrance event held in Carlisle on Saturday 7 November. The event raises funds for the Royal British Legion and focuses on honouring and remembering those who have served in the Armed Forces.
Distances offered:
- 5 km (manually timed)
- 2 km Fun Run or Walk (not timed)
The event is non-competitive and does not award winners’ prizes. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, and entries include a race number and refreshments at the finish. Participants are encouraged to wear red or poppy-themed clothing in honour of Remembrance.
The event is described as inclusive: people using wheelchairs, pushing prams, and those bringing well behaved dogs on leads are welcome to take part. Organisers aim for 100% of entry fees, excluding the cost of medals, to go directly to the Royal British Legion; the event also seeks support from local businesses to cover costs.
The 5 km is manually timed while the 2 km is a family fun run or walk and is not timed. The schedule allows 5 km participants the opportunity to also take part in the 2 km without extra cost. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
