Carlisle Remembrance Day Run
The Carlisle Remembrance Run is a community event in Carlisle on Saturday 7 November 2026 that raises funds for the Royal British Legion and honours those who have served in the Armed Forces. The event is presented as non-competitive, with no winners' prizes, and emphasizes remembrance and community.
Distances offered:
- 5K Remembrance Run - listed distance with manual timing
- 2K Fun Run/Walk - not timed, approximately 1 mile
Entry includes a commemorative medal, a race number, and refreshments at the finish. Participants are encouraged to wear red or poppy-themed clothing in honour of Remembrance. The event is described as inclusive: participants using wheelchairs, pushing prams, or bringing well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
Organisers aim for 100% of entry fees, excluding the cost of the medal, to go directly to the Royal British Legion and are seeking support from local businesses. Volunteers and sponsors are invited to assist with the event.
5K entrants may also take part in the 2K alongside friends and family at no extra cost. Registration closes 5 November 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
