Carlisle Autumn Duathlon
Carlisle Autumn Duathlon is a sprint-distance duathlon held at Carlisle Lake District Airport, The Terminal, Aviation Way, Carlisle CA6 4NW. The event is one of two annual duathlons staged by the organiser, taking place in spring and in autumn. Both run legs take place on airport surfaces and are traffic free; the bike leg follows quiet country roads.
The race format comprises:
- Run 1: 5 km
- Bike: 19.3 km
- Run 2: 2.5 km
Entries are offered for individual competitors and relay teams. Chip timing is used. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and across 10-year age groups. A bespoke finisher’s medal is provided and light refreshments are available in the airport after the event. Free parking is available on site.
Non-BTF affiliated athletes must purchase a Race Pass from British Triathlon to compete. The minimum age for the sprint distance is 15 years old on 31st December 2026. The event is organised by Carlisle Tri Club. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
