Avera Race Against Cancer - Sioux Falls
The Avera Race Against Cancer in Sioux Falls is a community run and walk that raises funds for patient services at the Avera Cancer Institute. The event is based at the GreatLIFE Fitness Club at Avera McKennan Fitness Center, 3400 S. Southeastern Ave., Sioux Falls, SD.
Participants may choose from multiple routes and formats, including in-person and virtual options. The event includes opportunities for individuals, teams, sideline supporters, and virtual participants. Teams must register and meet the minimum number of registered participants to qualify as a team. Chip timing is used for the official runs, and timing chips are provided on race bibs for those runs. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K.
Race services and logistics include packet pickup at the host facility, a race expo and survivor pavilion, on-course water stations on the 5K and 10K routes, and a first-aid station near the main stage staffed by medical personnel and an on-call ambulance. The event is ADA accessible. Complimentary shuttle buses run from designated parking lots, and limited survivor parking is available for those wearing the provided survivor shirt.
