Event overview
The Captain Bill Gallagher Island 10 Mile Run is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026 in Sea Isle City, NJ. The race starts and finishes at the Sea Isle City Beach Patrol headquarters on the boardwalk at 44th Street. Entry is available only online or on race day; there is no mail-in registration. Entry fees are non-refundable, even in the event of cancellation.
Course and surface
The event is a 10-mile race on a traffic-free, flat course that uses the boardwalk and the adjacent beach. The route runs north on the boardwalk to the 29th Street ramp, continues on the beach to the Strathmere turnaround, returns south to the 57th Street ramp, then on the beach to the Townsend's Inlet turnaround and back to the finish in front of the Beach Patrol headquarters. About 2.5 miles are on blacktop macadam boardwalk; the remainder is on hard packed sand similar to a dirt trail.
Registration, fees and race features
Early online registration fees are listed at $30 for individuals and $35 for team members, with higher fees during race week and on race day. Race day payments accept cash or Venmo; no credit cards or checks on site. Features include chip timing, water stations, toilet facilities at start and finish, and refreshments at the finish. Public parking locations in Sea Isle City are provided.
Timing, limits and awards
Results will be provided with gun time and chip time. A time cap of 2 hours and 30 minutes is applied; timing ends when that cap is reached. Awards include T-shirts for the first 1,000 online registrants, trophies for the top ten overall in male and female divisions, age-group trophies for first and second in listed age ranges, and team plaques and medals for top teams. Team scoring uses the first four finishers per team.
