Event Details
The Neches River Festival presents the Capes & Crowns 5K Run/Walk, its 7th annual event. The event features a 5K run/walk and a Kids 1 Mile timed race for participants aged 12 and under. All proceeds fund eight NRF scholarships for local youth.
Location and Course
The event takes place in Downtown Beaumont, Texas. The course is described as flat. The start and finish address is 200 Crockett Street.
Race Features
The 5K is chip-timed by Pelican Timing Services. Registrants receive a gift bag, a custom race shirt in youth or adult unisex sizing (with no guarantee after February 1), and a custom finisher's medal. There is a post-race celebration with food and drinks. Water stations are available along the route, and light refreshments are served before and after the race.
Awards
All participants receive a custom finisher's medal. The 5K overall male and female winners receive an additional prize. The top three male and female finishers in each age group receive a winner's medal. Age groups range from 1-14 up to 70+.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available at Exygon Health and Fitness Club on Phelan Blvd in Beaumont two days before the race, and also on race day. Participants are advised to allow extra time for race day pickup.
Registration
Registration for the 5K is open to ages 1 to 100, with special pricing for participants aged 1-18. Early online registration for the 5K is available until February 1, 2026. The registration fee for the Kids 1 Mile race is $10 and does not include a race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
