The 5K is a timed event. The 1K Fun Run is for children and is billed as free for ages 1-10.
Registration, packet pickup and race day
The 5K registration fee is listed as $30 through November 14 and $40 from November 15 through December 5. The 1K Fun Run has free registration for ages 1-10; t-shirts are available for purchase during registration. Packet pickup begins on December 4 at the Silsbee Public Library, 295 N. 4th Street, Silsbee, TX. Race morning will include late registration and late packet pickup.
Registered 5K participants are to receive a t-shirt in sizes Youth S-L and Adult S, M, L, XL; XXL and XXXL carry additional fees. Organizers note that swag or t-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations submitted after 12 noon on Thursday, December 3.
Awards and beneficiary
Awards for the 1K are given by small age bands (1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10) with first through third places in each band. The 5K awards first, second and third overall male and female, plus first through third in age groups. Age groups used for 5K awards include: 1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. The event benefits Friends of the Silsbee Public Library.
