Event overview
The Tinsel Trot takes place on Saturday, December 6, 2025 in Silsbee, Texas, based at the Silsbee Public Library at the corner of Earnest Avenue and 4th Street. The event program includes the following distances:
- 1K Fun Run (for children; free registration)
- 5K Run (timed)
The event benefits the Friends of the Silsbee Public Library. A Christmas in the Big Thicket festival is scheduled to follow the race. A jolliest costume contest will be judged before the race and results announced after awards.
Logistics and awards
Packet pickup will begin at the Silsbee Public Library on December 5, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Race-day registration and late packet pickup open the morning of the event and close at 7:30 am. Warm-up is scheduled before the runs. The 5K registration includes a race t-shirt; available sizes include youth S-L and adult S, M, L, XL, plus XXL and XXXL for an extra fee. Registration pricing for the 5K is $30 through November 15, 2025 and $40 from November 16 through December 6, 2025. The 1K registration deadline is December 4, 2025 at 11:59 pm CST.

- 1K: first place in age groups 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10
- 5K: overall male and female, plus 1st–3rd in age groups (1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+)
