Cape Fear Habitat Turkey Trot
The Cape Fear Habitat Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Live Oak Bank Pavilion, 10 Cowan Street, Wilmington, NC. The event was moved from Wrightsville Beach to downtown Wilmington because of construction.

Registration opens June 2, 2026 and closes July 7, 2026. The listed registration fee is $35. Participants may register online before the race, at packet pickup, or in person on race morning using a provided QR code.
Parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis in legal street parking spots or parking lots. Street parking in downtown Wilmington is free on Thanksgiving.
The event features a costume contest with categories for racer turkey trot costumes and pet Thanksgiving costumes. Pets are not allowed to race but are welcome in the park at the start and finish area. No preregistration is required for costume contests; judging takes place at the costume contest tent and winners are announced the same morning.
The Turkey Trot is an annual fundraiser for Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity to support home building and community work in New Hanover, Pender, and Duplin counties.
