Canton Fall Classic
The Canton Fall Classic presents new Temple Loop courses offering 5K and 10K road races through Canton, Massachusetts. The event follows town streets with a shared start and finish at 1301 Washington St, Canton, MA.
The route begins in front of the temple and turns right onto Pleasant St. The first couple of miles include some elevation variations. The course turns right on Sherman St, which is slightly downhill, and the next right onto Washington St features a significant hill near the finish or at the start of the second loop. The 10K follows the same loop twice, so the Washington St hill is encountered a second time.
Organizers retired the original 10K after 36 years because changes in the town made the old course unsafe for local traffic control. They describe the new route as an alternative that remains scenic and retains elevation changes. The event records accurate course measurements and official times, and organizers provide awards, high-quality participant shirts, and a post-race gathering.
The Canton Fall Classic supports local charities; proceeds benefit B'nai Tikvah and the Canton Food Pantry, both registered 501(c)(3) organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
