Canada Day Classic
The Canada Day Classic is a running event held on July 1st in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. The races take place at Gates Park on Reeve Street. The course is officially certified and measured, featuring a flat profile designed for speed.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 km: Chipped timing on a certified and measured course.
- 5 km: Chipped timing on a certified and measured course.
- 1 km: Free kids run for ages 5-10, featuring a bib but no timing.
All finishers across all distances receive a commemorative medal. Post-race snacks and drinks are provided to participants. For the 5 km and 10 km events, official results and on-course photos are provided. Podium prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in these categories.
The atmosphere includes live DJ sets playing from the start line to the finish chute. The event serves as a platform for fundraising for Childhood Cancer Canada. The race proceeds regardless of rain, shine, or snow, unless otherwise directed by the Parks Board. Refunds or deferrals are not permitted.
