Camp Sunshine Run for the Sun : Kollen Park, Holland MI
Camp Sunshine Run for the Sun takes place on August 5, 2026 at Kollen Park, beside Lake Macatawa. The event includes both a 5 km race and a 1 mile fun run or walk starting from the east end of the park near the playground and picnic pavilion.
Distances:
- 5 km race following the City of Holland 5k Route 3.
- 1 mile fun run or walk from the same starting area.
Parking is limited on the east end of Kollen Park where the event begins. Additional street parking is available within a short walk, and parking is also available in the west area of Kollen Park near the boat launch.
Packet pickup is available in the afternoon adjacent to the starting line in the east end of the park. Participants who reserved a t shirt size by the deadline may pick up their shirts; a limited number of shirts will be available later on a first come basis. Route maps will be available, and organizers note that a few route modifications may be required in 2026 due to road construction; the course will be marked.
The event has served as an opportunity since 2009 for campers, counselors, donors, families, friends, and sponsors to raise awareness and support for Camp Sunshine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
