Event
The GVSU "LAST CHANCE" TRI is scheduled for February 15, 2026 at the GVSU Recreation Center in Allendale, MI (10915 N Campus Dr, Allendale, MI 49401). The event is an indoor, points-based triathlon that can serve as a conference race to qualify for Collegiate Club Nationals.
Format and scoring
The triathlon uses timed segments rather than head-to-head racing. The segments and scoring are:
- Swim: 20 minutes; scoring is 1 point per 25 yards (one pool length).
- Transition 1: 10 minutes for drying off and moving to the cycling area.
- Bike: 25 minutes on a stationary spinning bike; scoring is 1 point per 0.1 mile.
- Transition 2: 10 minutes to move to the indoor track.
- Run: 20 minutes on the indoor track; scoring is 6 points per lap, with 2 points given for passing each of the three division lines on the track.
