Event Overview

The Camp Hook 4 Hour Trail Runs is a weekend of trail running events presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club. It features two separate events: a solo race on Saturday and a team relay on Sunday. Both events have a 4-hour time limit and take place at the historic former scout camp, Camp Hook, located at the southern end of Twin Creek MetroPark.

Course Details

The course is a loop of approximately 1.85 miles. It consists of 5% grass and 95% single-track trails with roots, and includes moderate elevation. The route uses the scenic purple trail around Lake George. One dry creek bed crossing is present, weather dependent.

Events & Participation

Participants can choose from two events.

  • Solo Event: An individual race for a 4-hour effort. The event is capped at 60 runners.
  • 4 Hour Relay: A team event for 2 or 3 persons. One team member runs the loop at a time, with teammates alternating. The event is capped at 90 runners.

Registration costs $25.00 per participant for each race.

Location & Amenities

The event is held at Camp Hook, 8539 Morningstar Road in Franklin, Ohio. An aid station with snacks, water, and drinks is located at the start/finish area. Primitive camping is available in reserved campsites on Saturday night, with amenities like fire pits and picnic tables. Restrooms are available in the parking lot and adjacent campsites.
