Camp 4 Coffee Cart to Cart Trail Race
The Camp 4 Coffee Cart to Cart Trail Race is a distance running event held in Crested Butte South. Participants navigate a course that traverses the Gunnison National Forest, utilizing a variety of surfaces including single track trail, dirt roads, and short sections of paved road. The terrain varies from smooth dirt to rocky sections.
The event offers two distinct course options:
- 10 miles: Features approximately 1,663 feet of elevation gain.
- 19 miles: Features approximately 3,281 feet of elevation gain.
Both distances begin and end at Camp 4 Coffee in Crested Butte South. The 10-mile route follows Cement Creek Road and various trails including Middle Cement Creek, Warm Springs, and Walrod Gulch before returning via the Caves Trail. The 19-mile route follows the same initial path but continues further onto the Point Look Out, Double Top, and Walrod Gulch trails before looping back to the finish.
This event is fully self-supported, meaning there are no water or food stations provided along the course. Runners are responsible for carrying their own supplies. The trails are marked with directional arrows and ribbons to guide participants through the forest.
