Calverley Chaos : event overview
Calverley Chaos is a festive trail race held on the Calverley Millennium Way, based at The Railway Inn, Calverley Bridge, Calverley, Leeds LS13 1NR. The course distance is 12 km (about 7.5 miles) with approximately 200 m of elevation. Entry is limited to 100 runners. The listed entry fees are: affiliated £18, unaffiliated £20, affiliated + medal £24, unaffiliated + medal £26. An on-the-day entry supplement of £2 may apply if the event has not sold out. The race is covered by race licence 6098 and is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Course, safety and facilities
The race starts and finishes at The Railway Inn. After the first 100 m runners split so that roughly half run the course clockwise and half run it anti-clockwise. The route is fully marked and uses public footpaths and a canal towpath. The profile is undulating and is run as a single lap. Permanent blue, yellow and green footpath markers will be used, with additional pink markers on the day.
All participants must carry a windproof or waterproof jacket and bring a personal water container, as the event is cupless. Trail shoes with good grip are recommended.
