Calverley Chaos : event overview
Calverley Chaos is a trail running event based at The Railway Inn, Calverley Bridge, Calverley, Leeds LS13 1NR. The course follows the Calverley Millennium Way and is described as a festive edition with muddy trails. The advertised distance is 7.5 miles (about 12 km) with approximately 200 m of elevation gain. Entry is limited to 100 runners.
Course, safety and logistics
The route starts and finishes at The Railway Inn. After the first 100 m, runners choose to run the course clockwise or anti-clockwise. The course uses public footpaths and a canal towpath and is fully marked with permanent blue/yellow and green footpath markers plus additional pink markers on race day. Organisers provide refill stations but the event is cupless, so each runner must carry a water container. Mandatory or recommended kit includes a windproof/waterproof jacket and trail shoes with good grip. Facilities at race headquarters include toilets and bag storage. Access by foot or bike via the Leeds Liverpool Canal is noted as convenient; if driving, parking on Calverley Lane off the A6120 is recommended as Calverley Bridge can be full. Route maps are available in GPX, Strava and OSMAPS formats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
