Buffalo Stampede 10-Mile and 4-Mile Run/Walk
The Buffalo Stampede is a road race in Sacramento featuring two distances: a 10 Mile run/walk and a 4 Mile run/walk. Both courses travel through the River Park neighborhood and use local streets and paths.
The 10-mile course starts and finishes at the Scottish Rite Temple (6151 H St) and runs approximately four miles through River Park before following the bike path toward the American River. Runners use the levee on the south side near CSUS, cross the Guy West Bridge, continue on the levee to Watt Avenue, cross the Watt Avenue Bridge, follow the south side of the American River Parkway, pass under the H Street Bridge, and return to the Scottish Rite Temple for the finish. The 4-mile course starts and finishes at the same location and runs through the River Park neighborhood.
The event is organized by the Buffalo Chips Running Club, a not-for-profit group that supports youth running programs including Youth Chips. It is part of the RunSac Race Series and connects with the NorCal 2x 10-Mile Challenge, a paired-race option that links the Buffalo Stampede with another 10-mile race. Awards include a finisher medal for all who cross the line and awards for top three finishers in five-year age groups; awards are available at the awards tent after the race.
