Buffalo Stampede 10-Mile and 4-Mile Run/Walk
The Buffalo Stampede is scheduled for September 13, 2026 at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Sacramento, California. The event is the 52nd running of the Buffalo Stampede and is organized by the Buffalo Chips Running Club, a not-for-profit group that supports youth running in Sacramento.
Two course options run through the River Park neighborhood and nearby river levees:
- 10 Mile Run/Walk
- 4 Mile Run/Walk
The 10 mile course starts and finishes at the Scottish Rite Temple and travels about four miles through River Park before continuing along the bike path toward the American River. Runners use the levee adjacent to the south side of California State University Sacramento, cross the Guy West Bridge, continue on the levee to Watt Avenue, cross the Watt Avenue Bridge, run on the south side of the American River Parkway, pass under the H Street Bridge, and return to the finish at the temple. The 4 mile course also begins and ends at the Scottish Rite Temple and follows roads through the River Park neighborhood.
Awards include a medal for all finishers and prizes for the top three finishers in five year age groups for both the 4 mile and 10 mile events. The race is part of the 2026 RunSac Race Series and is included in a new NorCal 2x10 Mile Challenge pairing two ten mile races in one season.
