Calabash Turkey Trot
The Calabash Turkey Trot is an in-person and virtual event taking place on November 26, 2026 near the Calabash waterfront. The organizer identifies this edition as their 100th race. Distances offered include:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile
- 3 Race Challenge (complete all three races in one morning)
Current registration fees listed are $30 for the 1 Mile, $50 for the 5K, $60 for the 10K, and $145 for the three race challenge. The 5K, 10K and challenge entries include a tech quarter zip; 1 Mile participants may purchase a t shirt for $10. All finishers receive medals and those who complete the three race challenge receive all three race medals plus a bonus spinning challenge medal.
The 10K and 5K courses are USATF certified and the event uses a professional timing company. Course support includes coned lanes on Beach Drive, volunteer marshals, sheriff deputies, and course signage. Water stops are provided roughly every two miles with water and blue Gatorade; the 10K has two stops and the 5K has one. Results are posted online.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, 2026 at the SeaTrail Convention Center, 75 Clubhouse Rd., Sunset Beach NC. Volunteers earn a race shirt, can direct a monetary donation to a local group, or may earn a free race by volunteering; volunteer registration is available online. Dogs are not allowed on course unless approved by the USATF ADA process. The event does not offer refunds and allows participant transfers and bib exchanges through the registration platform for a processing fee.
