12th Annual Calabash Turkey Trot
The Calabash Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving Day in Calabash, North Carolina. This annual event offers multiple distances for participants to choose from, including options for individual races or a combined multi-race entry. Finisher medals are provided to participants.
The event features several distance categories:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile (Mashed Potato Miler)
- Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge (Participation in all three distances)
The race includes various competitive categories with Golden Turkey Trophies awarded to top performers. Recognition is given to the top three overall female and male finishers, the top three masters female and male finishers, and the top three finishers in five-year age groups. There is also a category for the best costume. All trophies must be claimed in person during the awards ceremony, as they are not shipped to winners.
Participants have access to refreshments at the finish line, where pumpkin pie and coffee are served. For those unable to attend the physical location, virtual options are available for each distance and the multi-race challenge. The event is located at 9887 Oak Street.
