Cahaba Medical Care 5K
The Cahaba Medical Care 5K is a community fundraiser held in Centreville, Alabama on July 11, 2026, organized by Cahaba Medical Care. The event supports Cahaba Medical Care’s programs, with funds directed toward services such as medical care for uninsured patients, medications, mental health counseling, and family financial support. The event is described as the 13th annual running of this race.
The course starts and finishes near 195 Hospital Drive and crosses the Cahaba River twice, offering extended scenic river views and a passage through historic uptown Centreville and the Bibb County High School campus. There are designated water stations, volunteers and local police assisting runners at road crossings, sprinklers for cooling on the course, and a post-race station on the Community Center lawn serving cold watermelon and a meal. The course is USA Track & Field certified, USATF Track ID AL22021JE.
Event logistics include parking at the Olon Heights Shopping Center and additional parking at Cahaba Medical Care and Bibb Medical Center. Same-day registration is available at the Cahaba Medical Care tent on the Community Center lawn. Registration opens March 9, 2026 and closes May 31, 2026; the listed registration fee is $30. The 5K is held alongside the Celebration on the Green community event and is followed by an Independence Day fireworks show. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
