Cactus to Cloud Sky Race
The Cactus to Cloud Sky Race is a trail running event in Cloudcroft, New Mexico held October 17 to 18, 2026 and organized by Wanderlust Running. The event offers two course options:
- Sky Run 50K
- Cloud Run 32K
Races traverse a point to point route that moves from the Tularosa Basin desert up into the fir and spruce of the Sacramento Mountains near Cloudcroft, whose base elevation is listed at about 8,676 ft. The courses use high elevation single track and historic rail bed trails and are presented as part of the Sacramento Mountains Ultra Series; this event is the third in the inaugural series.
Start locations named in event materials include Oliver Lee State Park (409 Dog Canyon Rd, Alamogordo) for the 50K and Sunspot (3001 Visitor Center Rd) for the 32K. Shuttle service is provided to transport runners from the start finish pavilion to the respective starts; shuttle availability is noted during registration and is included with series registration.
