Buena Vista Turkey Trot 5K
The Buena Vista Turkey Trot is a family-friendly running event held in Buena Vista, Colorado. The route uses well-maintained trails and is mostly flat, with some bumpy trail sections. The course offers views of the Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas River and is described as stroller friendly; children who ride in strollers do not need to register.

Registration is completed online and accepts cards only. Registration opens fall 2026 and may close early if participant caps are met. Registered participants who cannot attend may defer to next year with at least 24 hours notice, pick up their giveaway during packet pickup, or forfeit registration and giveaway as a donation.
Packet pickup occurs in Buena Vista at a local tavern the day before the event and at the Start/Finish area on race day. Place awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in the 5K. All participants receive Turkey Trot swag and a commemorative finisher award. Animals are not allowed on any race course; they may remain near the Start/Finish area if leashed and kept at least 20 feet away.
