Buttermilk Mountain Backyard Bash
The Buttermilk Mountain Backyard Bash is a backyard-style ultra race held at the Kate Furbish Preserve East in Brunswick, Maine. The event takes place on coastal trails featuring a mix of single and double track paths. The course incorporates Buttermilk Mountain, which reaches an elevation of 121 feet.
The competition follows a specific backyard format where participants run a 4.17 mile lap every hour on the hour. To remain in the race, runners must finish each loop within the one-hour window. The event has a 12-hour cutoff time, allowing for a maximum total distance of 50 miles. Participants have the option to run as many or as few loops as they choose within these parameters.
