The Butler's Back the Blue 5k offers a fast course and supports the local K9 unit. Participants can run, walk, or join virtually, with prizes for top finishers and a festive post-race meal. It's a community event with music, free food, and leashed dogs welcome.

Course and Venue

The course is described as very fast. Registration and the start are at the bottom of Alameda Hill at the carousel pavilion, located at 184 Alameda Park Rd. in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Awards and Prizes

Prize money is awarded to the top overall male and female finishers. The top three overall male and female runners receive a police dog trophy. Age group awards are given for 10-year divisions in the 5k, with the top three in each group receiving a police medal. The top three male and female walkers also receive awards.

Atmosphere and Amenities

A DJ plays music and the national anthem. Free post-race food is provided, including pasta salad, hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, pierogies, and fruit. Leashed dogs are welcome.

Charity and Series

The event proceeds benefit the Butler City Police Department K9 unit. It is the third race in the Miles of Smiles race series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
