Butler's Back the Blue 5k
Butler's Back the Blue is a community running and walking event held in Butler, Pennsylvania at Alameda Park. The program includes an in-person 5k run, a 2 mile walk, and a Virtual 5k option. Registration opens January 8, 2026; in-person registrations close March 27, 2026 and the virtual registration closes April 30, 2026. Entry fees are listed as $22 for the in-person 5k and 2 mile walk, and $25 for the virtual 5k.

Awards include $50 cash to the top overall male and female 5k finishers, age-group awards for the top three in 10-year age groups, and walker awards for the top three men and women. A new 80+ age group is noted. Virtual participants will be mailed a finisher medal and an entry gift; race packets for virtual runners are mailed.
The event provides onsite food such as pasta salad, hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, pierogies, and fruit. Music will be provided by a DJ and the national anthem will be played. Dogs are permitted if kept on a leash. Registration and packet pickup are located at the carousel pavilion at the bottom of Alameda Hill. Proceeds benefit the Butler city Police Dept. K9 unit.
