Bute Highland Games 10k - 22 August 2026
The Bute Highland Games 10 K road race is scheduled as part of the Games on 22 August 2026. The race follows a coastal route from the Games' Stadium, through the town, then north along the coast road past Skeoch Woods and Ardbeg Point to Port Bannatyne, before returning along the same route to finish in the Stadium. The course offers views over the Clyde estuary, Loch Striven and the Kyles of Bute.
Timing uses a chip-to-chip system embedded within the race number, providing immediate race results that are accurate and available to all competitors. Changing facilities and showers are available at the Leisure Centre adjacent to the Park; the Leisure Centre closes at 6pm.
The organiser has published prize categories for 2025 as follows:
- Ladies 1st to 4th: £95, £75, £55, £35.
- Men 1st to 4th: £95, £75, £55, £35.
- Fastest veteran men (40 years and over): £50 and £40.
- Fastest veteran women (35 years and over): £50 and £40.
- First local man and first local woman: £35 each. The first male and first female home receive the Rhubodach Salver and the first local male and female receive the Rhubodach Quaich; trophies are retained by the Games Committee after presentation.
