Bute Highland Games 10k
The Bute Highland Games include a 10 km road race on 22 August 2026. The course starts and finishes at the Games' Stadium and follows the town streets northwards along the coast road, passing Skeoch Woods, Ardbeg Point and Port Bannatyne before returning to the Stadium. The route offers views over the Clyde estuary, Loch Striven and the Kyles of Bute and runs through surrounding countryside.
A chip to chip timing system embedded in the race number will be used to provide immediate, accurate race results. Changing facilities and showers are available at the Leisure Centre adjacent to the Park; the Leisure Centre closes at 6pm.
Prizes listed for 2025 include cash awards for the first four men and women, fastest veteran men (40 years and over) and fastest veteran women (35 years and over), and first local man and woman. The first male and first female home receive the Rhubodach Salver and the first local male and female receive the Rhubodach Quaich; trophies are retained by the Bute Highland Games Committee after presentation.
