Bute Highland Games 10K
The Bute Highland Games includes a 10K road race held on 22 August 2026. The route runs from the Games' Stadium through the town and then north along the coast road, passing Skeoch Woods, Ardbeg Point and Port Bannatyne before returning to the Stadium. The course offers views over the Clyde estuary, Loch Striven and the Kyles of Bute. Spectators line parts of the route and the finish takes place in the Stadium.
A chip to chip timing system is embedded within the race number to provide immediate, accurate race results. Changing facilities and showers are available at the Leisure Centre adjacent to the Park; the Leisure Centre closes at 6pm. The wearing of in ear headphones is not permitted under UK Athletics rules, while bone conducting earphones are allowed.
Prizes for 2025 are listed by category with monetary awards for the top finishers in men and women, fastest veterans and local competitors. The first male and first female overall receive the Rhubodach Salver and the first local man and woman receive the Rhubodach Quaich; trophies are retained by the Bute Highland Games Committee after presentation.
