Brodick Glencloy Trail - Isle of Arran
The event is a trail race of about 10K that starts in Brodick at the Ormidale Sports Field and returns there. The route follows rough footpaths and Forestry roads, with a total ascent of about 600 feet from and back to sea level. The course includes a short section on tarmac of roughly 250 yards.
From the sports field the route passes through West Mayish estate (about 200 yards on tarmac), then onto the Old Lamlash Road footpath. Runners continue up a rough footpath to the top of the hill between Brodick and Lamlash, then turn onto a broad Forestry road for around half a mile before descending into Glen Cloy. The course crosses the Cloy Burn on a Forestry bridge, returns down a footpath, crosses two rough fields, and follows the track beside the burn past Auchrannie Resort to finish at the old garage forecourt at the bottom of Auchrannie Road.
Trail shoes with grip are recommended. Registration and the event base are at the Ormidale Sports Pavilion, which has toilets and changing facilities; cars may be parked in the Ormidale Sports Ground car park. Entry is governed by Scottish Athletics rules. The minimum age is 16 and entries are limited to 100. Entry fees are listed separately for Scottish Athletics members and non members. Entries open 17 February 2026 and close 21 August 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
