Butcombe Trail Ultra
The Butcombe Trail Ultra features 50-mile and 50-kilometre self-navigation ultramarathons set in the scenic Mendip Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Organized by volunteers from Bristol's Town & Country Harriers, the event aims to benefit the Mendip Hills Fund, which supports local conservation efforts. The race route, primarily off-road, showcases stunning landscapes and includes a unique 47-mile trail that connects six local pubs.
The 2025 edition introduces a new 50 km race alongside the traditional 50-mile event, both serving as qualifying races for the UTMB. Participants are encouraged to be well-prepared and self-sufficient during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
