The event lists four checkpoints along the route for monitoring and provision of basic food and drink. Competitors must be 20 years or older on the race day and self-navigate the course. Random kit checks are conducted; mandatory items include a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, printed maps or OS maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit. Finishers receive a bespoke Green Man medal; the race shirt is offered as an optional extra from 2026. The organiser sets cut-off requirements and enforces rules on checkpoints, mandatory kit and littering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
