Event overview

The Drop - Bristol is an organised navigation challenge run by Organic Adventure Ltd. The next scheduled event is on 05/09/2026 at Up & Running, 38 North View, Westbury Park, Bristol BS6 7QA. Participants choose between these distance options:

  • 15-mile
  • 10-mile

The course distance is measured as the crow flies. The actual route walked or run may be longer.

Format and rules

At registration participants hand over electronic devices and receive a race number and an emergency bag. Devices taken on the event must remain sealed in the emergency bag; breaking the seal results in disqualification. Participants board a bus, wear a blackout blindfold or an alternative, and are driven to an undisclosed drop-off location. From that location participants must find their own way back to the event centre without maps, GPS, compass, or outside help. Organisers may provide maps at their discretion.

No unauthorised maps, no shortcuts, and no outside assistance are permitted. Blindfolds can be replaced with blackout safety goggles if needed.

Tracking and logistics

Live GPS tracking is offered as an optional, paid feature for others to view progress. Trackers are accurate to about 5 metres but can be affected by buildings and signal black spots. Trackers must be returned after the event or a £175 replacement fee applies. Parking is available in the town centre; the nearest railway station is about a 20 minute walk and the bus station about 15 minutes from event HQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
