Chasing the Rainbows Bursting Bubble 5K Walk & Run - East Islip
Chasing the Rainbows Bursting Bubble is a community 5K walk and run held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, New York. The event is presented as part of Bereaved Mother’s Day weekend and is focused on healing, remembrance, and community support for families affected by infertility, pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant loss.
The gathering includes on-site elements such as bubbles, food trucks, raffles, face painting, a live DJ, vendors, and live results delivered by text and email. Finish line photos and free same-day video and pictures are provided, and registered participants may receive a personalized bib if registration occurs at least three weeks in advance.
Course and logistics notes state that strollers are welcome and dogs are not allowed on the path or near the picnic area. Parking is available inside the park for a fee of $8 per vehicle. Race packet pickup details are to be announced, with a race day packet pickup booth planned.
Awards are offered for top overall male and female finishers as well as first-place awards in multiple age-group categories. A Wall to Remember is included as a memorial feature.
