Chasing the Rainbows Bursting Bubble 5K Walk & Run – East Islip
The Chasing the Rainbows Bursting Bubble event is a 5K walk and run held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, NY. The event supports families grieving infertility, pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and infant loss and offers both in-person and virtual participation options. A Wall to Remember is featured as a space for reflection and tribute.
On-course and event amenities include live, text, and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for participants who register at least three weeks in advance. Event activities listed include bubbles, food trucks, raffles, face painting, a live DJ, and vendor presence. Strollers are welcome on the course; dogs are not allowed on the path or near the picnic area. Parking inside the park is available with a fee of eight dollars per vehicle.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top finisher in multiple age groups, including 19 and under, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 plus.
