Chasing the Rainbows Bursting Bubble 5K Walk & Run East Islip
Chasing the Rainbows presents a community 5K walk and run held at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, NY. The event is organized as a Bereaved Mother’s Day weekend gathering to provide remembrance and support for families affected by infertility, pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or infant loss. The event offers both in-person participation at select locations and a virtual option.
Event amenities include live text and email results, free finish-line photos and video, personalized bibs for those registered three weeks in advance, and on-site activities such as bubbles, food trucks, raffles, face painting, and a live DJ. A Wall to Remember will be available as a space for reflection and tribute.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top finisher in multiple age groups, including youth and successive five-year brackets up to 70 and over. Course rules note that strollers are welcome and dogs are not permitted on the path or near the picnic area. Parking is available inside the park for a fee of $8 per vehicle.
Race packet pick-up details are to be determined; a race day pick-up booth will be available for those who cannot collect packets beforehand.
